چکیده

Given a complex analytic function with a one-dimensional critical locus at the origin, we examine the monodromy action on the integral cohomology of the Milnor fiber. We relate this monodromy to that of a generic hyperplane slice through the origin, and to that of a generic hyperplane slice near the origin. We thereby obtain number-theoretic restrictions on the monodromy and on the cohomology of the original Milnor fiber. §

Linear relations, monodromy and Jordan cells of a circle valued map

In this paper we review the definition of the monodromy of an angle valued map based on linear relations as proposed in [3]. This definition provides an alternative treatment of the Jordan cells, topological persistence invariants of a circle valued maps introduced in [2]. We give a new proof that homotopic angle valued maps have the same monodromy, hence the same Jordan cells, and we show that...

Monodromy Transform Approach to Solution of Some Field Equations in General Relativity and String Theory

A monodromy transform approach, presented in this communication, provides a general base for solution of space-time symmetry reductions of Einstein equations in all known integrable cases, which include vacuum, electrovacuum, massless Weyl spinor field and stiff fluid, as well as some string theory induced gravity models. There were found a special finite set of functional parameters which are ...

Invariant Subspaces of the Monodromy

We show that there are obstructions to the existence of certain types of invariant subspaces of the Milnor monodromy; this places restrictions on the cohomology of Milnor fibres of non-isolated hypersurface singularities.

Integral Operators and Delay Differential Equations

The monodromy operator of a linear delay differential equation with periodic coefficients is formulated as an integral operator. The kernel of this operator includes a factor formed from the fundamental solution of the linear delay differential equation. Although the properties of the fundamental solutions are known, in general there is no closed form for the fundamental solution. This paper de...
